Our Wedding

Micayla and Aidan’s story actually started earlier than either of them realized. When they were younger, Lynn once brought Aidan to Micayla’s family home so he could try on her older brother’s goalie gear. At the time it was just a quick visit, but looking back now it feels like the invisible string that was the very beginning of their story. They really got to know each other a few years later at 13, spending time together at teen skates and meeting up after hockey games. Glen and Elizabeth… Did you really think your daughter was there because she loved skating and hockey? They started "dating" not long after — and at the Memorial High School Halloween dance, Micayla made the first move with their first kiss, and Aidan’s been glued to her ever since. They started high school together, graduated together, and continued through university while growing up and building their life as a team. Along the way they’ve supported each other through many stages of life — from starting their careers, to buying their first home, and now planning their wedding. Aidan proposed during a trip to Prince Edward Island in the middle of a sunflower field. On the drive to their cabin, they unexpectedly passed the field that would end up becoming the perfect place to start the next chapter of their story.

Wedding Party

The wedding ceremony will be outdoors and take place at Andrea Estate at 3:00pm. Parking is available on site, however due to such a large number of guests attending, carpooling is strongly encouraged. We have decided to still have our ceremony outdoors if there is a light rain, we have our own collection of umbrellas that will be available but if you have one handy please bring the day of if needed! If the weather isn’t on our side and it is absolutely necessary to move indoors, our ceremony will be held at the Sydney Mines Fire Hall. This will be a day of decision and we will keep everyone posted via email, text or facebook. Dinner will be served by the lovely kitchen 1409 and will begin at 6:00pm. This will be a sit down style meal, if you have dietary restrictions please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate! After dinner, there will be a brief break where the hall will be switched to the reception area. The bar will be open, and we encourage a washroom break or getting some fresh air. If you need to check on a pet or run home to grab your dancing shoes now is your chance! Guests are welcome to stay at the hall during this time however please be patient as our coordinator will be preparing the dance floor! The reception will start at 9:00pm. We can’t wait to celebrate with you all! 🥂🪩
